Prima products save this season's major events

The Great British ‘event season’ is famous throughout the world, and worth millions to the tourism and entertainment industries. But like so many things in the UK, its success is weather-critical. Which is why during this Summer, PRIMA Direct (International) Ltd had to employ six times its normal staff capacity, just to keep some of the year’s biggest events open for business.

Leicester-based PRIMA Direct, manufacturers and suppliers of event flooring and portable access systems, and was literally ‘flooded’ with requests for its instant heavy duty roadway and portable flooring and access systems – and yes, as the rain continued to fall the emphasis was on the INSTANT!

Team PRIMA saved the day for a rock music festival at Donington Park, an international horse trials event, a challenge Anneka style charity event, a British birdwatching fair in Rutland and festivals in Reading and Leeds. On several occasions the PRIMA Installation Team transported their Gridmat portable flooring and Terra-Tech instant roadways from site to site, covering over 300 miles without once returning to the depot, such was the high demand.

Other high profile events include the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, British Motorcycle Grand Prix at Donington Park, a medieval festival at Tewkesbury, a Summer party for a renowned artist and a local university’s graduation ball.

Jonathan Vaughan, PRIMA’s chairman and managing director says, “We were too busy to holiday this summer, but some of our PRIMA Gridmat and Terra-Tech managed a round trip of 1,000 miles, visiting all the hot spots from the Summer calendar, especially those which were unbelievably wet!”
